The President has decided to make another surprising move, one that has managed to catch the attention of all leaders of the Middle East.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump talked with Palestinian and Israel leaders in the midst of a dramatic and suspenseful situation. On Wednesday, December 6, President Donald Trump announced the recognition of Jerusalem as capital of the State of Israel, following the decision of moving the US embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv thus ensuring that Jerusalem will indeed be the new capital.
The officials have said that the moving of embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem can take three to four years and in addition to that, any specific place for the relocation of the facility has not been decided yet.
On Tuesday, the president told Arab leaders that he intends to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The United States’ recent decision to make Jerusalem the capital of Israel and move the US embassy there might result in fueling violence in the Middle East. The unilateral decision of the U.S. as per the warnings received from the leaders will derail America’s peace efforts and will result in unleashing a turmoil in the Middle East region.
The most important thing to know about this move is that the administration’s peace process strategy is not yet clear and this is the reason because of which the majority of the leaders are not standing by the decision to move the U.S. Embassy after recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. On reading the signs correctly, it can be said that the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel will likely result in more trouble than intended causing all the more strife than usual.
What’s left to be seen is how significant an effect it causes on the Middle East’s political and economic scenario!
